Despite facing dry season challenges, grape production has been outstanding on the northern coast of the country, with Leonardo Falcone's harvest yielding high-alcohol grapes, suitable for long bottle storage. The harvest, which includes varieties like Marselan, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Moscatel, has faced minimal damage from storms and wildlife, thanks to strategic irrigation and cultural practices. Falcone is considering using water for late frosts and is optimistic about the quality of the Muscatel grapes for a sparkling moscato. Currently, his team of 40 is joined by 300 temporary workers, and he is looking forward to reopening borders and exporting wines, including to Canada, despite pandemic-related challenges.
