Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Food Security (GFSA) has procured 804,000 tonnes of durum wheat in an international tender, surpassing the requested 595,000 tonnes. The wheat, with a protein content of 12.5%, will be shipped to the Saudi ports of Jeddah, Dammam, Yanbu and Jizan between February and April 2025. The wheat could originate from the European Union, Black Sea region, North and South America, and Australia, with some potentially being Russian. The GFSA has already made several purchases from various suppliers, including Cargill, Louis Dreyfus, OLAM, Viterra, and Aston.
