The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia has initiated the first phase of two projects aimed at cultivating 49 million fruit and lemon trees across the country by 2030. The initiative includes planting 45 million fruit trees in Mecca, Asir, Al Baha and Jazan, and 4 million lemon trees in Riyadh, Eastern Province, Mecca, Najran, Qassim, Medina, Al Baha, Asher and Jazan. The goal is to meet half of the nation's fruit import requirements, supporting the Kingdom Vision 2030 targets, and enhancing food security.
