Saudi Arabia's National Center for Palms & Dates (NCPD) is strategizing to become the world's leading date exporters by 2025, with a aim to increase export sales by 19% in 2022 and introduce new markets. The country currently leads in the production of approximately 1.5 million tonnes of dates and exports around 217,000 tonnes to 107 countries. The NCPD is supported by a group of internationally certified date producing companies and is focusing on the quality of their 'Saudi Dates' product. A feasibility study has been completed to enter 25 new markets, including countries in East Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Latin America. The NCPD also plans to participate in international trade shows in North America as a gateway to Latin America.
