The Statistical Center of Iran has reported a significant increase in the retail prices of 53 food items in urban areas from May 22 to June 21, with Persian melon seeing the highest increase at 24.4%. Hydrogenated vegetable oil experienced the biggest year-on-year price rise for a food item, increasing by 141.2%. The overall average goods and services Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Iran increased by 43% compared to the previous year, marking the tenth consecutive month of rising annualized inflation. The CPI of 'food and beverages' for all Iranian households also saw a significant increase of 62.7% year-on-year.
