The Atlantis vessel is conducting research in the waters of the Republic of Guinea, studying the populations of leaffish, speckled seabream, and various species of horse mackerel and tuna. This research is part of the first stage of the Great African Expedition, with both vessels exploring potential areas for future domestic fisheries in northwest Africa, including the waters off Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, the Republic of Guinea, and Sierra Leone.
