Vietnam's seafood exports in the third quarter of the year saw a significant increase of nearly 13% compared to the same period in the previous year, reaching 2.76 billion USD. The first nine months of the year saw an 8.5% increase in seafood exports, totaling 7.16 billion USD. Key products such as pangasius, shrimp, crab, and shellfish experienced substantial growth, with crab exports to China playing a major role. However, tuna exports have seen a decline due to regulations on catching minum size tuna. The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) predicts a continued growth in seafood exports in 2024, with an estimated export turnover of 9.5 billion USD, an increase of 7%.
