Sri Lankan mango growers are experiencing financial difficulties due to fluctuating market prices despite increased cultivation and production. Anuradhapura has become the leading area for mango cultivation, and exports have grown, but seasonality causes significant price volatility, affecting growers' incomes. This volatility also impacts low-income households who rely on mangoes for essential nutrients. To address these issues, a multi-pronged approach is suggested, including promoting value-added products, optimizing logistics, forming farmer clusters, and enhancing export potential. Coordinated efforts among value chain actors and ongoing initiatives are crucial for stabilizing prices and ensuring year-round availability.
