One of the first resolutions of Pilu Giraudo, the newly appointed president of the National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa), was in favor of the agrochemical industry. The official relaxed the requirements that these companies must meet to homologate the plastic containers they use and at the same time expanded - adding toxicological classes previously prohibited - the margin of maneuver for these plastic containers to be recycled. In Resolution 614/2025, published this Friday in the Official Bulletin, the new president of Senasa made several modifications to another regulation from May 2021 that set rules for the containers of chemical substances used in agriculture. What do these changes aim at? Basically, agricultural input companies will still have to submit a sworn declaration about the containers they use "at the time of registration of the active substances and phytosanitary products."
