Seychelles launches second phase of National Aquaculture Policy 2023-2027

The country's aquaculture sector opened to investment in October 2021, and since then the Seychelles Fisheries Authority has been working with the private sector to support investment and help new aquaculture farmers get up and running. Investment in the sector is diverse, including species such as seaweed, sea cucumbers, sea urchins and finfish. To date, the Aquaculture Department has issued 11 licenses, with several applications currently awaiting review.
