The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has reported an increase in the processing of spring lambs, while the supply of hoggets has decreased compared to the previous week. The total number of sheep processed has also increased, but there has been a decrease in the overall number compared to the same period last year. The Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) has expressed concerns over the potential negative impact of factories' price cuts on the sheep trade and the market for the rest of the year.
