South Korea: Second export to the U.S. of Shiitake mushrooms from Seosan, South Chungcheong Province

Shiitake mushrooms from Seosan, South Chungcheong Province are meeting American consumers one after another. The city recently announced that it would export shiitake mushrooms worth 10 million won to the United States through Jeongdam Co., Ltd., an agricultural corporation. The city also exported shiitake mushrooms (worth 7 million won) to the United States in October last year. Jeongdam is cultivating shiitake mushrooms using bedrock water 150m underground that meets drinking water standards and domestic oak sawdust. It is said that various efforts are being made, such as being pesticide-free and obtaining GAP certification. This export volume is scheduled to arrive in the United States in early May.
