Shipments of Chilean dried plums to the world exceed US$ 100 million this year

Shipments of Chilean dried plums to the world reached a total volume of 34,026 tons, equivalent to US$ 104 million in the first half of 2024, a figure similar to that registered in the same period of the previous year. This was indicated by data from the Chilean Plum Association, Chileprunes, which detailed that China was the main destination for exports both in volume and returns: 10,463 tons, equivalent to US$ 23 million. Then, Poland and Mexico are located with 3,200 tons and 2,240 tons, respectively. The other countries that are part of the top ten shipments of Chilean dried plums to the world are the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Turkey and Australia. According to the entity, the Chinese peak also marked a difference compared to last year, when shipments to that country totaled 5,816 tons of dried plums, equivalent to US$ 19 million.
