Paraguay: Animal identification period will begin in February 2025

The official veterinary service reported that the implementation of SIAP, which aims to identify the 3 million calves born each year in the country, will have an identification period that will run from February 1 to June 30, 2025, according to the stratum of cattle/buffalo producers. According to the information, 500 or more heads of cattle that operate with the Cattleman's Module of the Senacsa Regional Office Management Computer System (Sigor) are responsible for applying the identification devices to cattle and buffalo. It is also established that 100 to 499 heads of cattle that do not operate with the Cattleman's Module are responsible for applying the tags to cattle simultaneously with the vaccination periods, with certification and registration by the Animal Health Services Foundation (Fundassa).
