As the second largest kiwifruit production area in the country and the largest base for red-fleshed kiwifruit, Sichuan maintained a planting area of 750,000 acres this year, with a slight decrease in annual production from 530,000 tons last year. High temperatures and drought during the flowering period led to a decrease in the fruit set rate of red-fleshed kiwifruit, with significant reductions in some orchards in Guangyuan; while in core production areas such as Pujiang and Dujiangyan, through water regulation and technical intervention, the reduction in production was controlled within 5%. The Chengdu main production area made an outstanding contribution, with 260,000 acres of planting area producing over 300,000 tons of kiwifruit, accounting for nearly 60% of the province's total production.
