REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that no party should exploit the momentum of Christmas and New Year 2025/2026 by manipulating food prices above the highest retail price (HET) set by the government. “We do not want anyone to take advantage of the situation during Christmas and New Year, then freely raise prices above the HET," said the Minister during a surprise inspection (sidak) at Tebet Barat Market, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (30/12/2025). He conveyed that his party was conducting the inspection to ensure the stability of prices and the continued safety of food supply during the end of the year, particularly for cooking oil commodities.
