The government of Silesia, Poland, has allocated over PLN 1.1 million towards the 'Owca Plus' program to support sheep breeding and biodiversity in the Beskid Mountains and the Krakow-Częstochowa Upland for 17 years. The Transhuman Shepherding Foundation, Dobry Widok Foundation, and the Foundation for the Development of Sheepdogs will receive a grant of PLN 1.087 million to graze sheep and goats in the Beskids. The program, which operates until 2027, has led to an increase in pasture areas, native sheep breeds, and biodiversity, and has also stimulated interest in sheep products and cultural events related to traditional pastoral economy.
