Since December 25, the transport of fresh Hass avocados throughout Argentina must be covered by the electronic Plant Transit Document (DTV-e), issued by the National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa). Senasa reported that this is established by Joint Provision No. 1/2024, of the national directorates of Agri-Food Safety and Quality and Plant Protection published in the Official Gazette, which aims to improve the traceability of the fruit in the national market and strengthen the safety of the product that reaches consumers. The entity detailed that this document is the only valid one to cover the transit of products, by-products and derivatives of plant origin, national or imported, and is carried out through the Integrated Plant Health Transit Document Management System (SIG-DTV).
