From the start of the current agricultural year in August 2023 to February 26, Russia has produced 6.6 million tons of sugar, an increase of 0.7 million tons from the previous year, as reported by the Eurasian Sugar Association. Five factories are still processing sugar beets from the 2023 harvest, with four expected to continue operations into March. The production also includes 1.92 million tons of dried granulated pulp and 1.66 million tons of beet molasses. The total sugar production in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) this season is projected to reach 7.6 million tons.
