The State Fisheries Agency in Lviv Oblast, Ukraine, has carried out compensatory stocking of the Stryi River at the Opir River confluence, releasing 1,402 brook trout fry. The fish, weighing around 3.7 grams each, were reared at a private trout farm in Zakarpattia Oblast. Since the start of the year, a total of 48,300 brook trout fry have acclimated in Ukraine's reservoirs, with the majority stocked in the Carpathian region, specifically in Brusturyanka, the Rika River, Shipit river, Yanovets, Krasnoshurk, the Velikiy stream, and the Stryi River.
