Since the beginning of this year, mackerel in Russia has risen in price by 24 percent, or up to 280 rubles per kilogram. The union's analysts named the continued high consumer demand for this fish as the reason for the continuing increase in its price. At the same time, it is noted that mackerel prices are approaching the level of imported raw materials. Over the first half of this year, the average cost increased by 32 percent compared to the same period last year, and since the same period in 2022, it has increased by almost one and a half times.
