In EU, slaughter cow prices average over 4 euros per kilogram

According to the EU Commission, in the week ending February 25th, young bulls in commercial class R3 sold for an average of 505.16 euros per 100 kg slaughter weight (SG) in the reporting member states, 0.3% more than in the previous week. The listing in Italy was very friendly, with a premium of 11.4%. The gain was lower in Spain at 1.9%. The fatteners in France and Austria had to be content with even smaller surcharges of 0.4% and 0.2%. While the price in Belgium moved sideways, there were discounts of between 0.4% and 0.5% in Germany, Ireland and Poland. The decline was even greater in Denmark at 1.8%. The EU quotation for slaughter cows is still on the rise. According to the Commission, an average of 400.91 euros per 100 kg SG was paid for animals in commercial class O3; that corresponded to an increase of 0.3%. In Spain, the price developed positively and increased by 1.2%. In Germany, Austria, Belgium and Italy, O3 cows became more expensive by between 0.7% and 0.3%. In ...
