Slovakia has extended its regional state of emergency to a nationwide one after two additional foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks were detected, bringing the total to five. The outbreaks, initially contained in southern Slovakia, have now spread to farms in western and southern regions. The State Veterinary and Food Administration (SVPS) confirmed the spread of the disease, forcing the extension of the emergency decree.
