Söke TARİŞ President Özer: "An urgent support model for cotton producers is essential, our government must intervene"

Söke TARİŞ Cotton and Oilseeds Cooperative President İsmail Özer stated that the cotton producer is experiencing the most challenging season in recent years, emphasizing that the state must announce a new support model without delay in December-January. President Özer highlighted that this season is one of the worst periods in recent years for cotton, stating, "Our producer is not satisfied. Even the producer with good yield cannot pay off their debt. This situation is not sustainable. Our state has a big task. The cotton producer across Turkey must be supported with a new support model." Pointing out that cotton prices follow world markets but the problems also affect dependent sectors such as the textile sector, Özer said, "Cotton is not just an agricultural product, it is the heart of the industry.
