Greece is advocating for the removal of the embargo on certain agricultural and horticultural products, such as peaches, strawberries, and oranges, to facilitate trade with Russia. In contrast, Latvia has taken a stringent stance by completely prohibiting the import of agricultural products from Russia and Belarus, even if the trade involves other countries as intermediaries. This move, a first in the European Union, is considered to be in violation of EU law, similar to the Polish embargo on Ukrainian grain.
