The South African Citrus Growers Association (CGA) is setting a new goal to increase citrus production to 260 million boxes by 2032, up from the previous target of 200 million cases by 2025. The CGA will present this vision at the South African Citrus Industry Annual Conference in mid-March. The industry has seen growth in exports to China, with a 24% increase in the 2021/22 season, while exports to Hong Kong have declined. The CGA plans to present projections and action plans to stakeholders in the first few months of 2023.
