Oranges' planting area is set to increase by 3% to 46,000 hectares, with a yield of 1.65 million tons. Soft tangerines' planting area will grow by 10% to 26,000 hectares, resulting in an output of 500,000 tons. Lemons and limes, with a production forecast of 625,000 tons, are expected to see a slight increase, and their export volume is anticipated to reach 461,000 tons, with the EU being the largest market. The report also mentions the relaxation of cold treatment requirements for South African citrus exports to China, which could boost lemon exports to 25,000 tons in 2024.
