South Korea purchased approximately 50,000 tons of bread wheat originating from the USA.

A group of South Korean millers has purchased around 50,000 tons of bread wheat of U.S. origin at an international tender, international news agencies reported, citing their sources among European trading circles. The delivery of the grain to South Korean ports is planned between October 15 and November 15. The winning company in the tender is cited as CJ International. However, the prices at which the wheat was agreed upon, as well as the quantities by varieties, are not well specified. According to traders, white soft wheat with protein between 9.5% and 11% was purchased at low values over $200 per ton FOB, white soft wheat with protein up to 8% at high values over $200 per ton FOB, dark northern spring and red winter wheat with at least 14% protein for slightly over $260 per ton FOB.
