"SovEcon": wheat prices updated to 2025 minimum

Average prices for Russian wheat with 12.5% protein in the European part of Russia last week dropped by 150 rubles to 13,700 rubles/ton, reported the analytical center "SovEcon." This is a new low for 2025 and the lowest level since August 2024, according to analysts. According to the Russian Grain Union, the price for wheat producers of the 4th grade decreased by 0.8% over the week, leaving an average of 13,100 rubles per ton. The pressure on prices was exerted by the high supply of the new crop in the southern regions. In the Volga Federal District, wheat prices decreased to 11,500 rubles/ton, and in the Central Federal District to 11,950 rubles/ton. For both macro-regions, this is the lowest level since the beginning of July, notes "SovEcon." The supply of wheat in the Central and Volga regions is high: in October, analysts estimated the harvest there at 21.3 million tons and 20.3 million tons, respectively.
