Soybean planting in this state has been completed, with 69% of the cultivated area now in germination/vegetative development. Corn planting is also on track, with 96% of the estimated total area planted. However, lack of rain in certain areas has led to losses. Other crops such as hardberries, carrots, cassava, sweet potatoes, melons, watermelons, grapes, and fish are also in various stages of growth and harvest. The region is also experiencing high temperatures which are affecting hardwood production. Artisanal fishing is currently on hold in some areas due to seasonal restrictions, but with optimistic expectations for shrimp catches in other areas due to favorable climatic conditions and the beginning of the shrimp migration.
