The European Union's soybean imports for the 2022/23 season, which started on July 1, reached 4.86 million tonnes as of December 11, an increase from 5.81 million tonnes in the same period of the previous season, according to data from the European Commission. Rapeseed imports were 3.15 million tonnes, up from 2.30 million tonnes, and soybean meal imports were 7.11 million tons, the same as the previous season. However, palm oil imports decreased to 1.52 million tons from 2.53 million tons. The top five EU sourcing countries by product were Brazil, Ukraine, Canada, Australia, and Argentina for soy, Ukraine, Australia, Canada, and Serbia for rapeseed, and Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and the US for soybean meal.
