Soybean production in Paraguay could reach a new record

Soybean production in Paraguay is heading for one of the best results in its history, with the possibility of a new record in the current cycle. According to StoneX, the estimate for the main crop was revised from 9.65 million to 10.14 million tons, and, with a second crop close to 1.39 million tons, the total volume may reach 11.53 million tons. The positive scenario began to be confirmed with the advance of the harvest in January, sustained by the good rainfall levels recorded in December. The first field results indicate productivities above the historical average in most producing regions, which reinforced the upward revisions in average yields. The most relevant adjustments occurred in important agricultural hubs. In the northwest of the Eastern Region, Alto Paraná began to register an average yield of 3.6 tons per hectare, while Canindeyú reached 3.5 t/ha.
