Soybeans, corn, and wheat: with good water conditions, agriculture gains momentum

The agricultural campaign shows clear signs of recovery in the pace of planting of broadacre crops, bolstered by a largely favorable water scenario in much of the agricultural area. Both soybean and corn managed to accelerate work during the last week, while sunflower and wheat exhibit good growing conditions and yields that, in the case of the fine cereal, are beginning to be above historical averages. For soybeans, the inter-weekly advance was 14 percentage points and planting already covers 58.6% of the 17.6 million hectares projected nationally. The delay compared to the previous campaign has been reduced to just five percentage points, a key data point for the productive potential. The state of the plots is mostly positive: 97% of the planted area is in Normal to Good condition, and 91% has Adequate to Optimal moisture. The first plots of first-crop soybeans are already detected in reproductive stages (R1) in both productive cores, under optimal water reserves in the profile. ...
