As of February 14, 2023, two out of the 65 sugar beet processing plants in Russia have completed their work for the 2022 harvest. A total of 43.2 million tons of beets have been processed, yielding 5,882 thousand tons of beet sugar, marking an 8.2% increase from the previous year. The country's beet sugar production is projected to grow by 11.8% to 6.35 million tons for the season from August 2022 to July 2023. Additionally, the area dedicated to sugar beet cultivation is expected to expand by 1.5% to 1.042 million hectares.
