The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has sent to the European Commission (EC) an expanded vaccination plan against the contagious nodular dermatosis virus to new areas of Catalonia and Aragon following the appearance of 18 outbreaks in livestock farms in the province of Girona. Ministerial sources have explained that "the authorization of the EC is an indispensable condition to apply the vaccine against this new disease that affects cattle." Following the appearance of these outbreaks, the veterinary services of the Generalitat of Catalonia, in coordination with the ministry, have taken all necessary measures in the restriction zones, including the start of vaccination.
