Spain confirms 7 new cases of ASF in wild boars in the same area

The Central Veterinary Laboratory of Algete (Madrid) confirmed the presence of the African Swine Fever (ASF) virus in seven more wild boars found dead in the same municipality of Barcelona, ​​Cerdanyola del Vallès, and very close to the place where two others were found last week. These findings are the result of the initial phases of the active search for carcasses in the area provisionally designated as infected. As they were detected in the same area, neither the control zone nor the surveillance zone was modified. With these new positive cases, the presence of the disease is confirmed in a total of nine wild animals, all in the same area. These positive cases have been reported to the European Commission and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).
