Spain's stone fruit production has seen a 3% increase from the previous season, reaching 1,815,788 tonnes, and a 9% increase compared to the average of the last five seasons. The Ministry of Agriculture has reported significant increases in apricot and cherry production, but a decrease in nectarine and plum production. Spain has also experienced a 13.3% increase in stone fruit exports and a 3.7% increase in the value of shipments compared to the previous year. In contrast, the forecasted total production of pome fruits, including apples and pears, is estimated to be 1% less than the previous campaign and 8% below the average of the last five seasons due to water stress from last year's drought, particularly in Catalonia.
