Spain imports more low-cost honey than ever

During the first four months of 2024, Spain has imported more “low-cost” honey than ever. The latest report prepared by the technical services of the COAG beekeeping sector confirms this: between January and April 2024, Spanish operators acquired a total of 13,653 tons of honey (2,153 tons more than in the same quarter of 2023). "We are facing the highest first quarter of imports of low-priced honey in recent years, as reflected in the historical data, and yet the packaging industries tell us that there are hardly any operations with Spanish milflores honey for lower demand.
