The Central Veterinary Laboratory in Algete has confirmed cases of epizootic haemorrhagic disease (EHE) in deer and cattle farms in various regions of Spain. The disease, transmitted by Culicoides spp. vectors, has mild symptoms in cattle but has not shown clinical symptoms in sheep or goats. Movement of affected livestock is restricted within a 150 km radius of the detected foci, but no restrictions on the movement or consumption of products from these animals are currently in place.
