The National Food Strategy (ENA) of Spain aims to establish a food system that meets the population's needs, revitalize the rural environment, and establish Spain as a global agri-food power. The country, being the fourth largest food exporter in the EU and seventh in the world, is already leading in various agricultural sectors. ENA's strategy includes ensuring food autonomy, affordable supply, sustainable production, and international trade. It also addresses six challenges: strategic supply, sustainable food systems, strengthening rural and coastal areas, healthy eating, innovation and technology in food, and providing consumer information. The strategy also emphasizes the importance of primary producers, industry, and distribution, and includes measures for improving the competitiveness of the sector, promoting sustainability, and encouraging innovation.
