Spain remained the leader in the production of compound feed in the EU.

Last year, the production of compound feed in Spain increased by 1.5% compared to 2023, reaching 38.8 million tons, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. The ministry highlights that Spain has maintained its leading position in this indicator in the European Union, while production in the community as a whole decreased by 0.4% in 2024 according to data from the European Feed Manufacturers' Federation. In Spain, the most compound feed was produced for pigs – 46.87% of the total amount, followed by those for cattle (20.78%) and for poultry (19.85%). Compared to 2023, there was a decrease in feed for pig farming by 1.1% and for cattle by 2% with a growth of 5.1% in the production of poultry feed.
