The Coordinator of Farmers and Livestock Organizations (COAG) of Spain has criticized supermarkets such as Family Cash and Carrefour for their chicken promotion strategies, arguing that they cause harm to around 5,000 poultry farms by undervaluing chicken and disrupting fair contract negotiations. COAG advocates for distribution chains to reduce their profit margins to lower chicken prices, rather than shifting the burden to producers, and is calling for a stop to such unfair practices to protect the livelihoods of livestock farmers.
