The organization Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España has estimated that the national rice harvest for this campaign will reach 761,515 tons, which is 27.43% more than in 2024 but a figure that is "far from the more than 900,000 tons of 2011". In a statement, it explained that, of the production expected for this year, 424,939 tons would correspond to the Indica rice variety and the remaining 336,575 tons to the Japonica, and that the average national yield has been 7.82 tons per hectare, 12.86% more than in the previous campaign. "This positive evolution consolidates the recovery of the productive potential after several irregular years marked by adverse weather," it pointed out.
