The cereal production for the year 2025 could reach 26.64 million tons, making it the second most significant yield obtained in our country, according to the latest estimate by Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España. This volume would represent an increase of 21.4% compared to 2024. The record was set in 2020, when 27.59 million tons were obtained. The increase in production is mainly explained by high productivity (the average national yield is estimated at 4.64 tons/hectare), especially in much of the northern half of the peninsula. In the western and southern parts of the peninsula, the results are more heterogeneous, with some declines compared to 2024 in Extremadura and Andalusia, although with figures much higher than those of 2023.
