From January to September 2024, Spain saw a 9% increase in fresh fruit and vegetable exports in volume and a 5% increase in value, reaching 9 million tons and € 13,044 million respectively. Fruits accounted for the majority of these exports in value and volume, while vegetables experienced varied growth. Notably, stone fruits, watermelon, melon, and red fruits saw significant increases in both volume and value. Meanwhile, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers were the main vegetable exports, with varying growth rates. September specifically saw a 5% increase in exports to a total of 625,037 tonnes, and a 15.6% increase in export value compared to the same month in the previous year.
