Food, beverage, and tobacco exports have increased by 4.4% between January and October compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 62,380.3 million euros, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business has stated. The latest monthly report on Foreign Trade reflects that agri-food exports have accounted for 19.2% of the total, while imports have been 12.9%. Purchases of food, beverages, and tobacco products have grown by 7.8% in the first ten months of the year, reaching 47,880.9 million euros. In October, the accumulated surplus was 15,360.6 million euros, higher than the 14,499.4 million a year earlier. Fruits, vegetables, and legumes have represented the main export item, with 21,266.5 million euros, 6% more than between January and October of 2024. This was followed by meat products, with 10,845.2 million euros (+4.8%), and oils and fats, with 6,222.2 million (-14.9%).
