The "Miguel Oliver" ship, owned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, has started its 'Pelago21' campaign on the Portuguese coast and the Gulf of Cádiz, running until March 22. Directed by the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere, the campaign aims to use the ship's probe equipment to study the abundance and characteristics of pelagic fish species such as sardines, anchovies, horse mackerel, mackerel, and blue whiting, utilizing the ecointegration method. The Ministry operates a fleet of research boats, including the Miguel Oliver, Emma Bardán, and Vizconde de Eza.
