REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono revealed the importance of implementing the blue economy program to maintain the sustainability of the fisheries ecosystem and national food security. Trenggono explained that food security stems from three sources: carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Specifically, one of the sources of protein comes from fishery products. Referring to consistently surplus trade data, fishery products are considered the strongest source of food security. "Please research, the sea can be the answer to addressing the food problems the world is currently facing," said Trenggono. To optimize potential and face existing challenges, Trenggono stated that everyone must start to realize the importance of placing ecology as the commander.
