[Korean Farmers' Newspaper, Reporter Kang Jae-nam] Jeju's primary industry has entered a new era with its first-ever 5 trillion won in auxiliary income. This milestone is being attributed to the establishment of the Jeju Agricultural Products Supply and Management Association, a key policy promise of the 8th Jeju provincial government, which has led to the creation of a producer-centered, autonomous agricultural supply and management system. Other contributing factors include the establishment of a scientific and digital farming base for Jeju agriculture, diversification of distribution channels, and the promotion of integrated marketing through the establishment of an inland integrated logistics center. This article will explore the driving forces behind Jeju's achievement of 5 trillion won in primary industry auxiliary income and the opening of a new era, as well as plans and challenges for Jeju's sustainable agricultural future, in three parts.
