Loei Province in Thailand is developing macadamia farming, a high-value crop, among 350 farmers across areas rich in organic matter at 700-900 meters above sea level. The province is focusing on certified varieties like Chiang Mai 1000, 400, and 700, with a yield of 300-700 kg/rai. The macadamias are sold as dried fruit or processed into value-added products such as green shell dried fruit, ready-to-eat macadamia shells, and macadamia oil. The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives is supporting macadamia cultivation since 1990 and encourages farmers to improve quality, increase productivity, and adopt zero waste practices to enhance competitiveness and income for growers. The Horticultural Research Center in Loei provides guidance and assistance to farmers.
